The Conner Sisters Misty and Ashley Conner

I would like to announce two more speakers for the PhantomFest....The Conner Sisters Misty and Ashley Conner, are two of the founders of the paranormal group named Sisters of Salem (S.O.S.) Society of Paranormal Research.

The two sisters grew up fascinated and inquisitive about the paranormal, from haunting wives’ tales to a grandmother who always claimed, "There was an explanation to everything, if you wait long enough for the answer. The sisters have had the opportunity to not only investigate notorious locations featured on various TV shows, but also to volunteer anywhere from haunted house thrills to being tour guides at these great locations. The sisters noticed as they pursued their passion of the paranormal, they also started to develop more of a sense of the spirit world, and what they had been going through all their life. Recently, the sisters had a passing in their family and their sensitivity increased greatly. As the sisters started developing their sensitivity with great advice from a wonderful psychic in this field, they feel it is a part of their journey to also share this information with people going on the same path as them with their own sensitivity and newly found gifts.

Gary Kwapisz

It’s my honor to announce The Gary Kwapisz as guest speaker for the PhantomFest! Gary Kwapisz has had a long and varied career in the comics business, working as a publisher, artist, writer and sometimes to show what a renaissance guy he is, he even colors and letters.

As a mere youth, he was one of the trouble-makers at the muck-raking Comics Journal, where he aided them in spreading acrimony and mayhem throughout the comics industry. Leaving that magazine with his professional reputation scraping bottom, he was forced to resort to chicanery to get Marvel editor, Larry Hama, to give him work.

Leery of starting at the top, Gary garnered assignments for Crazy magazine, where, unfortunately, his work was not enough to forestall its cancellation. Fleeing that sinking ship, he rode Hama’s coattails to the Conan books, where he worked for eight happy years. He has since been described as, ‘’The last great Conan artist.” After that, he went on to draw books as diverse as Moonknight, the Punisher and even worked with Harvey Pekar. But after 15 years in the comic biz, he decided to look into the wider world of illustration to see what it had to offer. There he has worked on projects as varied as Sesame Street and the Jurassic Park movies.

But his love of telling stories had him itching to get back to comics. He accomplished that when he partnered with his old buddy, writer Chuck Dixon, and together, they formed their own publishing company, History Graphics Press, which published a series of graphic novels targeted to homeschoolers, Civil War Adventure.

With his love of comics still blazing, Gary is now working on a weekly Pellucidar series of Edger Rice Burroughs, adapting the P. G. Wodehouse novel, Right Ho, Jeeves all while readying his new historical horror series, Stonewall's Arm.
