Wampler Home

     On August 13, 2011 the BDPS team investigated the Wampler Home located in Vansant, Virginia. I would like to take this moment to thank Caroline Wampler, for giving us permission to investigate such an interesting home. We decided because of the size of the home that we would do the investigation with just me and Matt O’Quinn. One of us could watch the monitors and the other could conduct the investigation throughout the home. We started our investigation around 6:00 p.m. with a walking tour of the home that was given by Matt. We started our set up around 7:00 p.m. We then proceeded to our investigation soon after dividing up as Matt watched the monitors I started the investigation in the living room moving throughout the home. We worked on a rotation changing our location about every 2 hours. We finished our investigation around 2:00 a.m. the following morning as a thunderstorm moved in the area which made it difficult to hear. This was a great experience and very helpful in our constant training.

     EQUIPMENT USED AT THIS INVESTIGATION:

• (4) DVR’s (Digital Voice Recorders)

• (0) Microcassette Recorders

• (3) Zero Lux low lever IR (infra-red) cameras

• (0) Panasonic handheld camcorder

• (1) Sony handheld camcorder

• (2) Kodak digital cameras

• (0) Nikon camera

• (0) Fuji digital camera

• (1) Canon digital camera

• (0) Samsung digital cameras

• (0) Motion diction IR (infra-red) Field video/camera

• (1) K2 Meters

• (1) EMF (Electro Magnetic Field) Meter

• (1) Laser Thermometers

• (1) Franks Box

     We placed (1) DVR (Digital Voice Recorder) in each of the areas of the property with reports or claims of paranormal activity; which included the living room, master bedroom, daughter’s bedroom and the spare bedroom. (1) IR camera was placed in the living room, (1) was placed in the master bedroom, and (1) was placed in the spare bedroom. (1) Sony handheld camcorder was carried along during the investigation. Also, we carried along with us during their investigations one of the following: K2 Meter, EMF (Electro Magnetic Field) Meter or Laser Thermometer and the Franks Box.

Reports & Claims:

Client claims seeing shadows, hearing footsteps she also saw a male shadow apparition. Ms. Wampler bought an antique wardrobe and activity has increased since purchasing the item. She is having trouble sleeping due to the activity in her home.

Wampler, Caroline

Caroline Wampler has owned the land and the house since 1997. Before that is was owned by a Mr. Ronnie Bowman of Little Prater. There have been no other houses there except that one, don't have the date the house was constructed. Only occupants have been Mrs. Wampler and her family over the years since 1997 the occupants before 1997 she didn't know who that may have been.

Personal Experiences:

There were no personal experiences.

Evidence

Photo evidence: No photographic evidence.

Video evidence: No video evidence.

Note:  BDPS does not support the idea of orbs as evidence of the paranormal because most orbs can be explained away as dust, bugs, rain, mist, fog, etc. There are cases that the orbs we photograph seem to move with some type of intelligent intent. We post these photos because we feel that there needs to be more investigation into the Orb Phenomenon and we shouldn’t be so quick to dismiss this phenomenon without further investigation and explanation. So we show these photos in an attempt to add another piece to the puzzle and leave this decision up to you to accept or dismiss orbs as evidence. It is also my opinion to show all evidence so we all can learn from what might be an area of the paranormal that may be getting over looked by researchers.

EVP’s (Electronic Voice Phenomenon)

We heard the following EVP’s (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) and unexplained noises on our DVR’s (Digital Voice Recorders) & Microcassette Recorder:

Living Room:

• Unexplained loud knock

• Unexplained low knock

• Several unexplained knocks

Master Bedroom:

• Unexplained loud breath

• Unexplained low whisper

Daughter’s Bedroom:

• Unexplained female voice (Did you hear that)

CONCLUSION

     We have come to the conclusion that the Wampler has very low paranormal activity. We were able to capture a few EVP’s that helped us to determine our conclusion. We feel that this maybe very low residual energy. We were unable to obtain enough evidence to back the claims of the client.
